Glenwood Springs Farmers Market
Charter Members

  • Ken and Gail Kuhns, own and operates Peach Valley CSA Farm, located 17 miles west of Glenwood Springs in the Colorado River Valley. They helped establish the Saturday Farmers Market in Glenwood Springs some twenty years ago, and have have operated their Community Supported Agriculture program, for the past sixteen years. Their vegetables, fruits, greens, and egg shares feed 100 families through 40 weeks of the year.
  • Colorado Homestead Ranches is a cooperating group of six ranches, raising beef the old fashioned way, without added Hormones or antibiotics. Lamb, elk, buffalo, seafood and chicken products are distributed from their Paonia Homestead Market Store, and their USDA Processing Plant, Cedaredge Meats in Cedaredge, CO. Homestead also sells their products at the Aspen Farmers Market. 
  • Forte' Farms is a twenty acre orchard located in Palisade Colorado, farmed since 1972. After about 30 years of building markets and diversifying their orchards, husband-wife team Peter and Carol Forte are now beginning to sell produce directly to the consumer. With 15 types of peaches, 17 types of plums, 5 types of apricots, 3 types of apples and 1 type of pear on this orchard, and experimental varieties of apriums and pluots, they stay on the cutting edge, and are always seeking new cultural practices, especially those that reduce pesticide use. The Fortes sell at farmers’ markets in Carbondale, Aspen and Denver in addition to Glenwood Springs.
  • Bill and Lee DeVries from Orchard Mesa’s DeVries Farm in Grand Junction farm over 100 acres and 100 varieties of vegetables. Since 1965, they have been offering produce by the pound or by the box, and add fresh roasted chilis in the summertime.
  • Mesa Forge and Farm is as family operation run by Jim and Mary Roark, along with their daughter Samantha Silvius. Farming 65 acres on Silt Mesa, north of Silt, they raise hay, sheep, goats and dairy cows, along with veggies and flowers. 
  • Hungry Mother Bakery, owned and operated by Julie Bloomingdale, brings fresh baked organic pastries and breads as well as pasta, granola, to the market.
